The Set-up

The One Up Grand National Championship is an annual cheer and dance team event held at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. Each year, pro- and junior pro-level cheer squads and dance teams come to compete, after winning their respective regional titles. The event draws a large group of tourists to the Nashville area from around the country. Behind the scenes of the event, multiple crews work to ensure the event’s success. C.P. Rigging, based out of Nashville, is the company behind all the skilled labor utilized to set up the event. I had a chance to sit down with Labor Coordinator, Chad Edmonds and Crew Supervisor, Chris Breakfield, to talk about their roles in laying the foundation for a successful competition.
